Lenovo Demos 'OPhone' Android Handset

Lenovo does many things well, but phones?
Well it seems we may just have to tick another box because the Chinese mega-corp has rather surprisingly shown off an extremely swanky Android based prototype which it is calling (oh my word) the 'OPhone'.
There is reason behind the naming however and it has nothing to do with the company expecting a particularly pleasant reaction from customers. Instead it is a codename derived from handsets based on China Mobile's Open Mobile System (OMS) which is the TD SCDMA (China's custom 3G standard) combined with Android.

So yep, the big downer here looks like should it hit production then first dibs go to Lenovo's homeland so I'm going to fight back by pretending the (as yet unreleased) specs of the OPhone are as follows: a stretched 128 x 128 resolution resistive touchscreen, a 0.3MP camera, no 3G, GPS or WiFi, a CompactFlash expansion slot (supporting up to 64MB) with 6MB of native memory onboard and an IE mobile browser - but then again, I doubt it.
As you'd expect there is no release date or even suggestion of one so but I'm optimistic we could see market ready Ophones by Q2 next year. Am I on a flight of fancy here? It's Friday afternoon, of course!
Update: Anyone think that browser reference was a bit mean? Yeah, me too - I'm feeling guilty about it.
