Nokia Unveils 5MP, aGPS, HSUPA Slider

Well we've had every other combination from Nokia...
Consequently the as yet formally unannounced S40 based '6260' just reared its reasonably attractive head today and while pitched at the midrange there's a rather decent looking feature list which might just turn a Festively-minded head or two.

For a start you'll get a 5MP snapper on the back which may be a step above the many distinctly average yet similarly megapixel rated phones out there via its Carl Zeiss lens. On top of this there's a high resolution 2.4in 320 x 480 pixel screen, aGPS (a first for an S40 handset), HSDPA with HSUPA for fast uploads, WiFi, compatibility with the company's Ovi platform.
At 15.4mm thick the 6260 finds itself in not-thin-not-too-blubbery territory and while we await word on weight and onboard memory it will come with the ubiquitous microSD expansion slot and ship early next year for a sim free of 299 euros - which I'd expect to translate as 'free' on most half decent contracts.
So the midrange for 2009 looks to be in good shape, which has me thinking - aside from the Tube - what else have you got cooking my Finnish chums...?
Update: That didn't take long - the 6260 is official! Missing info: 114g, 200MB internal memory, up to four hours (3G) talk time, 370/400 hours standby, support for up to an 8GB microSD card, FM tuner and Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP. No holes there then - happy days...

Nice one Nokia! I love the S40 platform - inherently more stable than S60 and fewer holes for hackers to poke ;)
Now if only i could find these specs in a similarly ... more

Looks like a cut down girly version of the E66 (which I own and think is rather good).
