Nokia Confirms Touchscreen N Series On Way

Well, colour me not surprised... in the slightest... at all... in any conceivable way... Nokia is planning more touchscreen phones.
Yes, as surely as day follows night, taxes follow a salary cheque and irate reader battles follow any form of Apple news or review, Nokia has confirmed its debut touchscreen handset the 5800 XpressMusic will not be its last in this field. *Somebody fetch me a chair*
Sarcasm aside (just for one brief moment) Nokia India marketing director Devinder Kishore broke this startling news (I said brief) explaining to CellPassion "We will have lot of touchscreen phones coming up, including an N-series device very soon."

You heard it here folks: Nokia will bring touchscreen to its flagship range, possibly in time for Christmas. Well pickle me in mulled wine and snort me some ground reindeer.
Speaking of the obvious, any touchscreen N series will bring HSDPA, WiFi, GPS and N-Gage support as seen in the likes of the N96 (above), N95 8GB, N85 and N82. Gaming of which could be the most interesting part as it would radically shake up the in-need-of-a-radical-shake-up drudge on the platform at present and may force programmers to actually use their noggin (or just rip ports from App Store).
Now if you'll excuse me I feel I must go and sit down because I hear more Nokia touchscreen phones are on the way!?! Well, hang me upside down, batter me with breadcrumbs and serve me with a side of chips*...

:petev - not sure how you can leap to that conclusion from this. The point is this is in no way a surprise. They will be coming and it is a GOOD (if obvious) thing.

I am waiting for the N85 but if they are planning a touch version for end Q4 08 then I may have to scratch that idea.
