We heard a very similar story back in April and now it is seemingly concrete...

Prada II specs suddenly look nailed on after phone specialist site BGR printed a list from "trusty sources" (no, not us!) and given their highly specific nature I don't feel too inclined to doubt them. Express surprise maybe, but no doubt. See if you can spot exactly where my eyebrows raise...

  • Quad-band GSM/EDGE, dual-band HSDPA
  • 240×400 3.0in screen
  • Five megapixel autofocus camera with flash
  • VGA recording (no word on LG's 120fps antics)
  • Sliding Qwerty keyboard
  • Bluetooth 2.1
  • Wi-Fi b/g
  • Infineon MP-EH + M180 chipset
  • Accelerometer
  • FM tuner
  • 104.5 x 54 x 16.8 mm
  • 950mAh battery
So did you spot it? Yep, it appears LG is giving up on the original Prada's touchscreen keyboard and going old school in a move that will add bulk and weight. Way to go, LG. That practice makes perfection notion is totally overrated.

Ok, I'll ease off for a minute - phones with physical keyboards are perfectly fine, I've owned them and see their value but their bulk/screen size compromises mean they don't represent the future. Heck, even RIM is moving to a touchscreen BlackBerry. So by all means stick one on a business phone or new line but it seems odd to make such an obvious backtrack here on an updated model - and a fashion phone at that. Ho hum.

That aside it's looking a decent follow-up to the original - which was distinctly average to begin with so no pressure! - and while there's no hint at a release date in here, I'll bet it isn't far away...
