It feels a bit much to have an entire story devoted to this, but we know many, many of you out there have been holding off for the white/girly version of the iPhone 3G. Well, the wait is over...
The Carphone Warehouse has the first white editions of the iPhone 3G to hit the country now on pre-order for 26 August delivery.
As you might expect stock isn't going to be high and given the white model will come only with a 16GB capacity demand will no doubt be strong. On the other hand there will be no price premium for buying a 16GB white iPhone 3G over a black one (just as there jolly well shouldn't).

As with the existing iPhone tariffs, pricing for the 16GB white iPhone will break down as follows:
£159 on £30 and £35pm 18 month contracts
£59 on £45pm 18 month contract
Free on £75pm 18 month contract
Package Allowances
£30pm - 75 mins, 125 texts (nasty)
£35pm - 600 mins, 500 texts (the sweet spot)
£45pm - 1,200 mins, 500 texts
£75pm - 3,000 mins, 500 texts
Given the handset is also now a few firmware updates in, those of you holding back may well find the timing ideal. As our review explained it would be one of the smarter decisions you could make.
As for that illusive PAYG edition, it's still nowhere to be seen.
