InnovEIGHT!? Because it has an EIGHT megapixel camera? Am I reading this right!?

Sigh.

the touchscreen interface isn't likely to be as good as multi-touch on the iPhone????

This phone does not even have touchscreen - am I missing something here??

True datTM

It's a slider with a regular keypad (and a bloody big screen). But honestly, touchscreen or no, the OS is still a massively important factor and Samsung will do well to come anywhere near the genius of the iPhone (which I believe is just running a modified version of OSX!)

if it had a xenon flash it would truly be an uber phone

Chani, you're right - for touch-screen, I read touch-pad (which it does have).

I was hoping this phone was going to be released this month (wasn't there some sort of press-release a while back), but I guess I can wait another month.

Comparisons to the iPhone are pointless though - this is aimed at the top-end Nokia N-series market, not the iPhone market. Samsung have the Omnia in that space, but for those of use who prefer functionality over form, this is a very exciting handset.

It's between this and the SE905 at the moment although the proprietary connectors / memory card of the SE make the Innov8 the front-runner ATM. Begs the question...where are Nokia right now?

Enough monkey business... Does anyone know what networks this will be available on?
I'm hoping T-Mobile and/or O2, though I heard that O2 would not be carrying the Nokia N95 cos' it could harm iPhone sales...

Is that an SDHC slot? I would certainly hope so.
