The question is, do I believe the iPhone Dev Team's suggestion that my unlock should survive the upgrade?

@Darfuria - granted you can't text through your computer with the iPhone docked, but there's nothing stopping you just picking the dock up and texting with the phone connected. I do it all the time!

@Gordon, of course, it's just a simple thing really. Apple just seem to be fantastic at all of this great technology, but they often miss the simple things that make people go "Aawhh", such as copying and pasting, and SMS through the computer when the phone is docked. It'd be a neat little feature.

I would expect the various SIM unlockers to survive any and all updates because they are handset-independent and don't just exploit a (pluggable) iPhone hole.

I'm wondering when they're going to allow you to SMS through your computer when the iPhone is docked. It seems a bit pointless having to remove the iPhone from the dock to text someone when an application could be written allowing you to do it on the computer.
Apparently iPhone PC Suite has part of that functionality, but it would be nice if Apple jumped on the bandwagon with this feature.
