WWDC most definitely around the corner as Apple is unleashing the updates...

Mac OS X 'Leopard' has jumped to v 10.5.3 and is rather unenthusiastically described by Apple as "general operating system improvements that enhance the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac". Products affected by the patch include all previous versions of Mac OS X 10.5 as well as Mail, iChat, iCal and AirPort.

Highlights of the release include bolstered networking reliability, Time Machine and Time Capsule compatibility issues (Aperture support is added) and tweaks to Spaces. As you'd expect, the full list is monstrous so for the MacHeads out there you can find it here.

In related news Apple has also churned out the iPhone SDK Beta 6, related because for some (possibly rumour inducing) reason it is only compatible with Macs running the 10.5.3 update. Why would Apple force all developers to immediately patch their machines? That's for you dear readers to speculate...

As for the SDK itself Apple mentions mostly bug fixes though the (hyper) excitable have been getting their knickers in a twist about what is said to be a 3G iPhone icon contained within it. It's blown up above and does apparently differ from another iPhone icon in the SDK (notably the screen on/off top button is missing and the bezel looks slightly reduced). Try not to get too excited about this for now but if you can't help yourself, up the meds...
