He's a sneaky teaser that Jobs...

Hyping up the tension (and throwing websites and forums into chaotic bouts of pontificating) is Apple's decision to detail this year's keynote at the annual World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC).

Most interestingly/controversially/predictably the release makes no reference to new hardware of any kind but instead states the event will "showcase two revolutionary development platforms, the ground-breaking innovations of OS X Leopard and OS X iPhone". Hmmmn, we kinda guessed that be the case with firmware 2.0 and App Store for the iPhone launching...

The announcement also goes on to say Jobsy won't be doing his keynote on the usual Tuesday but instead on Monday evening (9 June). We'll be positive and say that's so all the new kit announced can turn up in store on Tuesday!

Other activities Apple lists at the WWDC include:

  • Presentation sessions led by engineers that provide an in-depth look at OS X iPhone, OS X Leopard and innovative tools and technologies such as the iPhone SDK, Cocoa Touch, Interface Builder, Xcode® and more
  • Practical hands-on sessions where attendees can learn Apple's own coding strategies and techniques
  • technology labs where attendees can work one-to-one with Apple engineers
  • Special events, including the Welcome Reception, Apple Design Awards, Lunchtime Speakers and Stump the Experts

Personally we're just dying for Steve J's keynote. Roll on the iPhone Black…!
