The original Prada looked good until we got a hold of the iPhone, so LG will be hoping the same isn't true of its successor. Given the specs supposedly leaked to ePrice over the weekend however this may not be the case.

According to the Chinese site, the 'Prada II' will bring with it this tantalising list: 7.2Mbit HSDPA, a 5MP camera, a 3in WQVGA touchscreen display, WiFi, Bluetooth, a TV-out port and microSD slot.

In a somewhat radical departure (and something I'm highly sceptical of) Unwired also claims the Prada II will sport a slide out physical Qwerty thumb/keyboard which would be a hulking step backwards (look if you can't type on the iPhone you just haven't tried hard enough or for long enough) and will add a lot of bulk. Equally surprising, given this hefty list, is the lack of GPS - seemingly 2008's must have feature on any premium handset.

In all I'm pretty sceptical of this report (LCD, camera and connectivity seem fairly obvious assumptions - we can all play that game) so I wouldn't hold your breath. Still, it looks like the 3G iPhone will be first out the gate this time which gives LG the chance for fine tuning. Based on the ultimate short comings of its predecessor - it should use that wisely...
