With an increasingly large number of people - particularly business users - owning more than one mobile phone, it amazes me this has taken so long...

In any case - rather remarkably - HKC's 'W1000' and 'G1000' are the first dual sim Windows Mobile smartphones on the market. The duo both pack dual network technology meaning a pair of numbers can be used simultaneously - even on different networks, each garnering their own signal.

Aside from their breakout feature however the pair are fairly average, packing weedy 200MHz processors, 2MP cameras and no WiFi or GPS. Some compensation can be found in the shape of 2.8in QVGA touchscreens, Bluetooth with A2DP for wireless headphone listening, 256MB ROM/64MB RAM, a microSD card slot and a full version of Microsoft Office mobile, but these are no showboaters that's for sure.

The primary difference between the two is simply network support with the G1000 Euro friendly and the W1000 targeting the Far East. Both are available to buy on HKC's website right now, so if you'd like a little less pocket bulge (you know what I mean!) then either would prove a worthwhile purchase.

Start of a dual sim explosion? Probably not, even if it should be...
