I don't buy all this nonsense about the iPhone needing a physical keyboard or number pad - I can type faster on my iPhone than I ever could on my Vario II/HTC TyTN and so can Riyad. Still, if you think dexterity isn't your strong point this will certainly peak your interest...

The LG 'Glimmer' is essentially a KF510 reversed: touchscreen display, physical keys. The end result is far more pleasing too with a large 2.8in LCD with finger friendly controls, a 2MP autofocus camera and 4GB of onboard memory with a microSD expansion slot for adding more.

Faux Assisted GPS makes it inside along with Bluetooth and audio and video playback functionality. Battery life is good for seven days on standby. The Glimmer is built upon the framework of the Viewty which means it isn't the slimmest (15mm) or lightest (127g) but for such a well featured slider this remains fairly impressive.

Interestingly, LG says the Glimmer will go on sale in Korea before the end of the month so this isn't a pie-in-the-sky design while an international release is dependent on success in its backyard.

Personally I see the Glimmer as conclusive proof that an iPhone and a SLVR can mate, though I'm guessing for the former there was a lot of alcohol involved...

Update: Korean release dates and pricing are here: March 13th is the formal day and the Glimmer will go for $250 after a $100 rebate on a two-year contract.
