I'm certainly not going to buy into this one entirely, but time is running out...

With just four days remaining in the month Steve Job's promise of a February iPhone SDK is in jeopardy, especially if you listen to BusinessWeek.

The publication - which got the scoop on the initial SDK announcement 24 hours before the official declaration - now claims that unspecified problems will see the kit delayed anywhere between one and three weeks.

Apple has declined to comment on the report (read into that what you will) but BusinessWeek does go on to stress "the situation is fluid, and a lot of last-minute decisions are close to being made about what precisely will or will not be disclosed" which suggests BW is still hedging its bets to some extent. Of course it would be interesting to know whether it is Apple or a crucial third party (iPhone iPlayer perhaps? Or the Lotus Notes App?) which is holding up the big launch - but opening up the handset should be worth the wait.

More as we get it... and remember: tomorrow is Tuesday.
