Apple has rightly had a great deal of praise for its revolutionary entry into the mobile phone market, but it seems making a stunning handset may not be quite as difficult as it seemed...

Following first timer Garmin's announcement of its stunning nüvifone last week, fellow newbie Giga-Byte has come up with a barnstorming pair of its own.

The EDGE capable 'GSmart MW700' and HSDPA packing 'GSmart MS800' are a dynamic duo of Windows Mobile 6 handsets with large 2.8in touchscreen displays, GPS, an FM tuner, digital camera and DVB-T/DVB-H support for mobile TV broadcasts across the globe. There's horsepower under the hoods too since Giga-Byte has packed in a 520MHz CPU - well up on the 400MHz clock speed typical in most high end smartphones. Business users will also get a full application suite and at 14.95mm they are relatively slim.

While previous experience with Windows Mobile means at this stage the iPhone and the nüvifone are still getting me rather more hot and bothered, I'll hold fire until I get full details. We won't have to wait long, Giga-Byte says both will be formally unveiled at - you guessed it - 3GSM. Think I'm sensing a pattern
