Despite its agreement to open up the iPhone next year Apple is once again putting its foot down with the impending UK launch on Friday.

T3 has gotten its hands on a pre-release model which shows our (and likely all European) iPhones will ship with software version 1.1.2. This latest update has yet to be formally announced but T3 confirms it adds "plenty of cool new changes" though only goes on to list multi-language support and Cloud WiFi hotspot interoperability.

The biggest issue in all this however - as I'm sure you've already guessed - is that v1.1.2 relocks all previously unlocked iPhones (regardless of version) and closes the infamous Tiff exploitation.

Consequently the cat and mouse game between Apple and the hacking community (choosing which is which is up to you) will once again begin in earnest. It also makes one point painfully clear: Apple is only going to open the iPhone on its terms - third party hacks will not suddenly be tolerated.

A global v1.1.2 update is likely to hit users at some point this week. If you did do the understandable unmentionable and unlock your iPhone be very careful...
