Five megapixels is clearly where its at for any self respecting high-end handset in 2007 and Nokia's latest leakage will swell the numbers further.

The 'N82' has been rumoured for some time but now the first spy shots of the device have appeared on the web via LiveJournal along with a full spec sheet and it certainly looks worth the wait.

It won't win any beauty contests, but this candybar is a HSDPA enabled, offers the aforementioned 5MP camera which comes with autofocus and (obligatory) Carl Zeiss lens, a Xenon flash, slightly disappointing 2.4in QVGA screen, making-up-for-that GPS, FM tuner, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, 100MB of onboard memory and a microSD slot. Talk time is rated at a chunky 280 minutes and standby a monstrous 270 hours.

Against this however is the device's size which at 112 x 50.2 x 17.3mm isn't far off the dimensions of some of the smaller smartphones on the market. While at 120g it isn't much lighter either.

Word is the N82 will come to market early next month. If you like your combat pants, you'll love this...
