What with all the Mobile TV deals being done at the moment, what's one more...

Following in the footsteps of Sky, ITV, Channel 4, MTV and even the Beeb itself, BBC Worldwide has inked an agreement to provide a selection of its best programming for O2's mobile customers.

In a statement Peter Mercier, the BBC's Head of Mobile, said "O2 is the largest UK operator by subscriber numbers so this is clearly a great deal for us in terms of getting our content in front of consumers." The most surprising part of this quote: I always thought Vodafone was the largest... ho hum, what do I know? *cough*

Anyway, League of Gentlemen, Little Britain and The Office are amongst the star-studded line up that will soon be hitting O2 mobiles and there will also be previews, ringtones and even themed wallpapers. More than 300 pieces of content will be released in time for launch and accessible to O2 customers through the network's 'O2 Active' mobile portal.

O2 hasn't finalised the official launch date or pricing for this latest content addition, but expect it to arrive in the very near future.

"I want that one!" jokes welcome.
