While I wouldn't be tempted to reach for even the smallest cup of water were most Nokia models on fire the latest is at least fairly well featured, affordable and compact.

Looking like many a Nokia handset before it, the '6120 Classic' does however manage to shave off the flab (105 x 46 x 15mm, 84g) while also implementing HSDPA connectivity.

That said this good work is compromised by the humdrum two megapixel camera but a 2in QVGA display and Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR with A2DP do liven things up a bit. As always, Symbian is the OS of choice (in this case v9.2) and there is up to 45MB of user storage available before you'll need to shove in a microSD for a further boost.

IMAP4, POP3 and SMTP email protocols are supported while the onboard browser is capable of displaying HTML and XHTML over TCP/IP and WAP2.0. A second VGA video camera is also installed for video conferencing.

Multimedia support is impressive handling H.264, Mpeg4, RealVideo, AAC, MP3 and WAV files amongst many others and a document viewer is capable of opening Excel, PDF, Powerpoint, Word and Zip files.

Talktime is limited to just three hours but there is fantastic standby at over 10 days (providing it isn't used). Furthermore the 6120 is likely to be free with most contracts and is even available sim free for just 260 euros.

Still, Samsung Ultra II beater it ain't.
