It is official: the Samsung D900 is no longer the most slinky, stylish and all round delectable slider phone on the market and the X820 is no longer the most malnourished.

The new holders of these titles are the dimensionally named ‘Ultra Edition 10.9’ and ‘Ultra Edition 5.9’ – both predictably also made by Sammy.

Neither phone has been yet been officially announced but what we do know is that the UE 5.9 shaves a whole millimetre off the already rather snappable UE 6.9 while it is said to feature a rather stunning feature set which includes a 3.2MP camera, audio and video playback, Bluetooth as well as 80MB of onboard memory.

As for the UE 10.9 this exercises a whole 2mm off the cellulite ridden arse of the D900 yet maintains the same specs: 3.2MP camera, audio/video playback, Bluetooth, 80MB memory. I don’t yet know whether it will carry HSDPA like the final version of the D900…

March is purported to be when we’ll see the 5.9 and I expect that means the 10.9 won’t be much later. So, a pair of super sexy format factor busting mobiles… it must be that time of year again.
