Another day another Motorola rehash and today it’s the turn of the SLVR.

For once however my anger is merely at boiling point rather than it usual RAZR-induced meltdown since the company with the world’s laziest design team has actually tried this time.

Other than the microSD slot (which kinda has to be there) nearly every aspect of the new ‘SLVR L7e’ is an improvement on its predecessor. For example, the so 2002 VGA camera has been boosted to a so 2004 1.3 megapixeler, A2DP support means you can now add wireless stereo headphones and the Americans get EDGE in addition to GSM.

Furthermore the keyboard has been updated to mimic the finish of the RIZR (the company’s latest typo affliction) and you’ll continue to get MP3, AAC, AAC+ and ACC+ Enhanced playback. Onboard memory is still rather rubbish at 20MB but it remains reassuringly anorexic in appearance.

The L7e probably won’t be enough to convince lawyers, stockbrokers, estate agents and Audi TT owners to cash in their current RAZR variant but it should do nicely for their wives and girlfriends when it ponces its way onto shelves before the end of the year.
