You're sitting back enjoying your lazy Sunday morning and then you get a text message on your Windows Mobile smartphone. Argh, the terror! Stylus at the ready, you brace yourself to be there until lunch.

This is a common scenario for many Windows Mobile users who own handsets without bulky sliding physical keyboards and Microsoft knows it, but until Windows Mobile 7 arrives sometime next year you'll want to check these out.

Dasur is a small company which specialises in developing innovative and diverse input alternatives for the infamous Windows Mobile virtual keyboard. It has come up with two products, 'ThumbKey' which works like the iPhone method on approximations (working out and suggesting words as you type) and 'SlideIT' a mind bending 'graffiti' system for use with a stylus which lets users draw their way between letters without the stylus ever leaving the screen.

Videos in this instance are worth a thousand words (or at least more than I am prepared to type) so check out the ThumbKey and Slide IT demonstrations.

If they tickle your fancy (and for any Windows Mobile soft keyboard user they should) then each can be downloaded directly from Dasur's website. At $25 for ThumbKey and $40 for SlideIT they certainly don't come cheap, but it's hard to put a price on saving your sanity...
