Remember fring? We like it a lot and you should too – especially since you no longer need to own a natty Nokia handset to use it...

That's right, fring is no longer restricted to those ugly, boxy Finnish handsets; it now works on fat, ugly, boxy Far Eastern handsets too because it works with Windows Mobile!

All fring's features will be available to the smartphone brigade (probably the audience it should have gone for first in all honesty) meaning MSN/Google/Skype compatible VoIP calls and instant messaging. T-Mobilers on the network's superb Web n Walk plan can particularly expect to cash in here...

“fring is excited to let Windows Mobile users leverage fully integrated VoIP & multiple IM experience enabling calls, chat and real time presence via their mobile device’s internet capabilities, previously only possible on their PC” said Avi Shechter, Co-founder and CEO of fring. “Like all fringsters, Windows Mobile users now have real mobile independence to make VoIP calls at no extra cost with rich presence indicators and hold multiple live chat sessions with their mobile, PC and landline contacts all from one integrated contact list.”

As I'm sure you all know if you've read our fring review (if not, get over there now!), the software is completely free, PC and operator independent and doesn't require any proprietary hardware or air time. Calls to Australia here with come...!
