There’s an old joke that goes: What do you call a fish with no eyes? A Fsh. On the other hand I have no idea what to call a 'Fiish'?

Clearly a pack of suits sat around a table long and hard trying to work out ways to pervert the obvious goldfish tag that could accompany this phone. Unfortunately they came up with ‘Glofiish’ which isn’t so much advertising genius as a horrendous typo which mars an otherwise highly promising product.

At 16mm the Glofiish, made by E-Ten, is being marketed as the world’s thinnest smart phone with GPS (which isn’t strictly true since HTC’s impending P3300 is only 12.8mm thick). That said size isn’t everything.

With a 2MP camera and 400Mhz Samsung CPU the supporting specs to this relative super waif aren’t bad though the 64MB RAM, 128MB flash and 320 x 240 resolution screen are all fairly standard these days. There are also goldfiish stars to be awarded for Bluetooth 2.0 and a microSD expansion slot though its wireless b seems a little antiquated in times of widespread g.

At 146g the Glofiish is a bit lighter than most smartphones but with the P3300 also due any minute the question remains: for how long?
