Another RAZR FFC Approved

I understood the RAZR (sexy but dim) and I got the RAZR V3x and SLVR. In fact I could even stomach the L6. Yet with the introduction of the V3i and V3m I suggested back in November that perhaps there were a few too many variations out there. In February I reiterated this point when the RAZR Z appeared and by April I was pig sick of the whole franchise having seen the RAZR V3m. So imagine my delight to learn of the K1 and K1c…

Formally approved by the FCC this week the handsets previously codenamed ‘Canary’ have officially been revealed as yet another incremental RAZR adjustment. As far as I can tell both models are identical with the c simply designed to work on Verizon’s network in the US.

Consequently, we’ll see (get ready to yawn) Quad band GSM handsets, with 176 x 200 pixel screens, two megapixel cameras, stereo Bluetooth, microSD slots in the new few months. Weight and dimensions have yet to be revealed but they do look both narrower and slimmer than the first gen RAZR. You can also spot that the K1 and K1c sport metallic blue finishes which does absolutely nothing for me yet given the world seems to gawp every time the RAZR steps out in new threads should be highly interesting to many.

Unfortunately the two K1s don’t appear to be the last in the line of RAZRs either. Snaps of another slider codenamed the ‘Capri’ were exclusively nabbed by Gizmodo last month so I have to assume my punishment in the name of karma for being both good looking and highly intelligent is set to continue for some time to come…

Update:
Apparently sales of the RAZR V3 have now topped 50m units. Who are you people? It was never any good. A hideous example of style over… oh, why do I even bother?
