palmOne also announced two new GPS bundles. It appears that in other European territories, almost half the PDA buyers, opt for a GPS bundle at point of purchase, and palmOne would like to replicate this statistic in the UK.

There are two GPS bundles available, one incorporating the Zire 31 and the other based on the Zire 72. Both bundles comprise an alliance of products from palmOne, ViaMichelin and Kirro – palmOne makes the PDA, ViaMichelin provides the maps and Kirro supplies the GPS hardware.

Both bundles come with UK and Ireland maps included, and have the ability to add important points of interest, like speed cameras and petrol stations. The Zire 31 bundle uses a wired GPS receiver, while the Zire 72 bundle comes with a snazzy Bluetooth GPS receiver, although it can be hard wired as well.

The Zire 72 bundle is available now at a suggested retail price of £349, while the Zire 31 bundle will be available at the end of October for £249.
