I took mine back when it was apparent that critical feature were not working, I was disappointed that they decided to fix it rather than refund. I am seriously thinking of using it as a five hundred meter target which is its best use. I was told that it had world maps (a la Garmin) but the map for Japan was just a blodge with a couple of capital cities marked and it is not possible to buy better ones except for W Europe and N America. Useless! It has bunch of useless features for geeks not for navigators, maps are poor and virtually useless in the Australian bush unlike a Garmin 3560 unit which I used which even had minor farm tracks on its map system and which cost less than half the price of the Magellan. The Magellan eats batteries and is essentially useless for anything other than video games. I do not recommend them for either off road or road use nor for hiking/hunting. Junk!
