Off the bat, the LG F1480RD6 looks absolutely incredible. Whilst a lot of appliances nowadays are being made to look pretty as well as work well, the LG F1480RD6 takes it to a whole new level with a vast array of features helping ensure it performs as nicely as it looks.
For starters, let’s look at the drum. Not only does it have an absolutely astounding 9kg capacity — more than big enough to wash a King size duvet — it has a Direct Drive drum that is more durable and much quieter than traditional models. Honestly, the LG F1480RD6 is almost silent.
This drum is then capable of six different motions. It has a standard tumble, a rolling silent motion that is kinder to clothes whilst cleaning them more effectively, a filtration movement that soaks clothes more quickly and more evenly, an intensive scrub to create a figure of eight movement in the water to get out tough stains, a swing movement to delicately clean clothes and a stepping movement that prevents wrinkles in clothing. This delivers truly exceptional cleaning and drying — it’s no wonder the LG F1480RD6 has an A-grade washing rating.
In fact, there are quite a few ratings that the LG F1480RD6 can boast about. It has a brilliant energy efficiency rating of A***, which is kind to the environment and your electricity bills. Although the maximum spin speed is only 1400 revolutions per minute (still wickedly fast for a 9kg drum) it has a spin efficiency of A, so clothes get much drier before they start drying.
Most washer-dryers fall flat on their dryer capabilities, but not the LG F1480RD6. Whilst the dryer isn’t exceptional, it’s perfectly good. There are very few things that the LG F1480RD6 fails on to be honest — the cycle times are a little long and it’s big, but that’s it.
There’s no way to sugar coat it — the LG F1480RD6 is expensive. But it’s also fantastic, and in this case you definitely get what you pay for.
