you can get the LG 50PK350 50" Full HD version for under £500 so I'm thinking there would be little or no reason to buy this?

chrism the cheapest I found that set for is 595 - still a fair point though because that's only an £80 difference. STILL - it's amazing that they've come down so much in price. I was thinking of getting a 32" Bravia LCD for £460, now I'm not so sure...

Your right Michael it seems to have gone up in price last few days, last week several large retails had it for under £500, always pays to be on the look out for a deal!

£535 is the cheapest I can find the full HD version at Price comp sites still list it as under £500 but those prices have indeed gone.... Still at £535 its a bargain for that screen size and you only need it for a display as opposed to tuning etc...

Had this TV for a year, the power board went out. LG denies any knowledge of problem, however three TV tech's that I spoke with stated that this is an ongoing problem with this model. LG wants big $$ for new board.

Came across a guy at work that wants to sell me the 50PJ350 for $400. Am I getting a good deal or should I go for $350? Or should i just stay away?

I have had mine since 2011, it has never missed a beat any picture that burns in is easily reset and cleared using the picture reset tool, only one downside is that the glass is a glossy glass finish so you will get glare from surrounding light sources. I bought mine or $670 brand new, I'd ask $300 and see what he says after that $350 sounds fair.
