hp can fit a keyboard which features all the extra buttons like the home and the end key on their 13 inch laptop...

why the bloody hell can't apple? all i ask is a simple dedicated delete key, which you don't have to access via Fn Backspace. is that too much? :(

Laser etched patterns - UGGHH! Why or why? Not everyone appreciates a laptop trying to imitate a paisley shirt!

I like the battery slice as it seems to be the only revolutionary thing in these machines. Don't get me wrong, they seem great and I would happily accept one.. if I was given it for free! But the price doesn't justify it. I've been a long Asus user but I'm about to switch over to apple, I have bought the MBP 13" seeing as IMO no other company can produce a similar windows counterpart at a similar price (note similar NOT affordable/bargain price).

Apple - (For better or worse...) Think 'Different'

Hey what graphics chip does the dm3 have?

laugh ....I nearly wet myself.....design sucks laser etching is worst than terrible ....price sucks .....windows 7 more than likely will suck.
Bottom line get a mac !

Bottomline gravitysteve : stop kissing steve jobs ass! (you even have the same name LOL)

Well thanks for your constructive criticism gravitysteve! That's really helped me make an informed purchasing decision.

I actually quite like the laser etching. There's a bit too much of it, but at least it adds something to that bland featureless chassis. Wise to leave the non-design to macs - they've got that market sewn up.

@ gravitysteve, have you even tried Windows 7? I'm typing on it right now! And you know what? It's pretty good. It's obviously not going to lure loyal Mac users like yourself away, but for people who were thinking of switching to Mac, I think it's going to keep them in the Windows camp for the time being. :)

comment gravitysteve said on 20th September 2009

@Ohmz...ref "loyal mac user" I've only been in the "mac camp" for 10 months and I'm blown away by how much further advanced and reliable things are over here with a great user experience and an abundance of style thrown in for good measure.

@purephase... stick to the windows pc's man they need people like you

@Stewart: Because some people like items to have personality, rather than being bland and boring with absolutely no decoration *coughapplecough* so they're as inoffensive as possible.

@Alvin: Thinkpad T400? Tecra M10? There are plenty of laptops similar to the MBP at a similar price.

@gravitysteve

Been using macs a lot longer than you then! Typing this on a very old one right now. Just think that current apple design - or an "abundance of style" a you put it is about as interesting as blank piece of paper.

I'm sorry - I didn't get the memo from Steve that said that mac users aren't allowed to say anything negative about apple at all - could you forward it on thanks? That would be great!
