HD BBC iPlayer
If you're a regular reader of TrustedReviews you'll know that I am a huge fan of the BBC iPlayer. I'll even go so far as to say that its existence admonishes the BBC of responsibility for the continuing travesty generally known as Radio 1 - call me controversial if you will.
There is, however, one oversight in the BBC's on-demand offering. Where, oh where, is the HD content? I don't care about bandwidth costs, that's what we pay a license fee for, I don't care about technical limitations, if Vimeo can do it then the BBC can, and I don't care about any claims of it being "of limited appeal" - I want it and I want it now.
Come on BBC, I know you've got this planned. Just hurry up and do something soon, please!
Lifetime Napster Subscription
Napster is, to put it bluntly, brilliant. Since installing the program to test for the purposes of my Music Subscription Service Round-Up I've found myself unable to uninstall it again. Having instant, easy access to just about every song I could care to listen too is a luxury I really don't want to be without.
I am, in fact, more than happy to shell out my own cash on a subscription to Napster to ensure I don't have to be without that access. Saying that, though, this being the season of cheer and goodwill, if somebody wants to give me a lifetime subscription, so I'll never have to go without, I'm not going to complain.
I'll need Napster To Go, of course. And maybe a nice new portable media player such as the Sony Walkman NWZ-S639F to go with that, too.
Elmo Live
This being a Christmas wish-list, it seems a great oversight to not include a toy of some sort and as toys go, Elmo Live has got to be one of the most incredible I have seen for a long time. Perhaps it's because Sesame Street was of such huge influence on me childhood, but there is a special place in my heart for the cute, fluffy inhabitants of that neighbourhood. I simply can't get enough!Which brings me to Elmo Live. A small, robot Elmo capable of dancing, singing, telling stories and jokes and… the list goes on. What's amazing though is that both Riyad and myself have found ourselves standing in John Lewis and Gamley's respectively, staring as Elmo recounted a story to us. In a word, Elmo Live is simply enchanting.
At £80 Elmo is hardly the most expensive toy going, either.
Mother, Father, Santa. If you're reading this, you know what to do.
