TrustedReviews NewslettersDid you think Nokia would leave its Booklet 3G all alone? Well it looks like it wont be as according to DigiTimes' and its ever-reliable "industry sources" Nokia will be launching an Arm-powered system next year. The system isn't expected to arrive until mid-2010, however, so don't get too excited.
That timescale coincides nicely with previous information, which suggested that ARM's netbook-orientated CPU would likely be available around April next year. The smartbook - not netbook, you'll notice - will, it's supposed, use a Qualcomm Snapdragon and, unlike the Booklet 3G, be made available to other manufacturers, to be sold under their brands.
There's some suggestion that the system will use the same Maemo Linux-based operating system powering a number of Nokia's recent smartphones and internet tablets, such as the N900. The system definitely won't be running Windows, anyway, as that OS doesn't cater for ARM CPUs. Whether that's a good or bad thing I'll leave for you folks to debate.
No doubt we can expect more details to slip out in the coming months. For now, I welcome your rampant speculation - the comments are, as always, just below.

I don't think it matters that much..ARM based systems are limited in functionality and software..
