TrustedReviews NewslettersAnyone hoping for LG to make significant changes to its X110 will be disappointed by the X130 which is largely the same. Specifically, it's available in black, white or pink and has a 9-cell battery.

So exactly how much use does a 9-cell battery net you? While the 3-cell unit used in the X110 managed two hours five minutes, suggesting the X130 should be looking at six hours of so of lifespan, LG is claiming double that, with 12 hours of use quoted. Even if such a claim seems unlikely in the real world, video playback is quoted at seven and a half hours, which is hardly unimpressive.
In every other respect, though, the X130 is a tad regressive. The 10.1in display still only offers a 1,024 x 600 pixel resolution when rivals are moving towards making 1,366 x 768 a de facto standard. A 1.6GHz Atom, 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive aren't particularly exceptional either, though such a set of components is to be expected when Windows XP is present.
Given these specs, the ₩789,000 (~£390) asking price could be seen as a little steep. Still, we'll reserve judgement until UK pricing is available.

hopefully when windows 7 gets released without a hitch, manufacturers can end all this netbook malarkey and gt back to the original idea of thin and light laptops.
