TrustedReviews NewslettersApparently unaware that we don't exactly need any more netbooks HP has introduced the Mini 5101, accompanying it with a less uninspiring 13.3in business notebook - the ProBook 4310s. To HP's credit, both at least look pretty swish.

The 10.1in Mini 5101 is available with either an uninspiring 1,024 x 600 pixel or noteworthy 1,366 x 768 pixel display. A 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 CPU is paired with 1GB of RAM and either hard drives of 160GB or 320GB or an 80GB SSD. Bluetooth, Draft-N Wi-Fi and mobile broadband modules are optional.
The all-metal chassis has a magnesium base helping keep the system's weight down and a three-axis accelerometer, which can lock the hard drive if the Mini 5101 is knocked or dropped - although that obviously won't be needed for the SSD version.

The 13.3in ProBook 4310s can be specced with either a 1,280 x 720 pixel 'BrightView' display or a 1,366 x 768 pixel panel with or without 'BrightView'. Intel CPU options include Core 2 Duos up to 2.8GHz or up to a 2.2GHz Celeron. Up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM can be fitted with either integrated Intel GMA 4500 graphics or a dedicated 512MB ATI Radeon HD 4330 chip with up to a 500GB hard drive. Other options include a wireless broadband module, a Blu-ray burner and a fingerprint reader.
Both systems are set to launch this month.
