In case you've been living under a rock for the last few weeks, Sony has been prepping a successor to its much loved VAIO TZ Series and the fruit of its labours, the VAIO TT, has now seen its official UK unveiling. We can now tell you they'll be going on sale as of November 10th, with prices starting from a simply expensive £1,199 and moving up to a merely heart attack inducing £1,999 - about the right prices for an unemployed bank executive really.

Still, as Nicolas Barendson, VAIO Business Unit Manager, put it the VAIO TT is billed as a mobile business solution "without compromise" and going by previous experience we can well believe him. Indeed, Peter Jones of Dragon's Den and business success fame was present to echo such sentiments. Having used the VAIO TT for a few days prior to the launch he described the VAIO TT as "the best product [of its type] on the market" - we'll be the judge of that, thanks.

Anyway, onto more important matters, the TT Series will be available to both business users and consumers, with the former benefitting from three year warranties and integrated HSPDA as standard along with all the usual bell and whistles.

Other standard features include an 11.1 inch, 1,366 x 768 LED backlit display and obviously Centrino 2 spec ultra-low voltage processors. Most models come with the 1.2GHz SU9300, the only exception being top of the range models which add a 1.4GHz SU9400. RAM is available at up to 4GB and all models feature 802.11a/b/g/Draft-N Wi-Fi, Motioneye Webcams and Intel integrated GMA X4500M HD graphics.

Keep an eye out for some hands-on impressions soon.
