If Dennis the Menace owned a laptop.. this would be it ;)
very nice looking machine but very pricey for what you get. That 16GB HDD would be used up in no time!

@ Aspegic
I think they meant crazy if you don't want one, but not if you simply don't want to pay the cost. I personally would love to have it, but I'll never buy one unless I either make a lot more money or it comes down in price.

Exactly what I meant, Juxtah.
I want a DBS but I'm not going to buy one...

Can't you just settle for a copy of Razzle? Dirty Book Store indeed!

Looks really nice, I want one!! :)
Btw, I never really heard any of you talk much about the Z series, only TZ, how can that be?

The position of the finger print reader is genius

anybody who mentions this notebook and a netbook in the same sentence should be beaten 3 times with a trout to the theme song of the adams family. *looks harshly at Aspegic *

People need to understand what the Sony T[x] series represents on the market, not try compare it to little wanna-bes like netbooks. The netbooks came about as a result of machines like the TZ machines, but trying to give aspiring owners the chance to look like they've got an expensive toy they can take everywhere. If all i wanted was a word-processing, 3-hour-battery-lasting, web-browsing lapintop i'd still go for a stylish Apple Powerbook G4 12", which can be had for £300-£350 on ebay and will give you more pleasure for the money and exclusivity at the same time!
The TT looks delicious; it does everything a bigger machine will do, and i wish i could underscore everything there. It packs some nice extra features in as well, and is durable, extremely stylish, capable of stupendous battery life and quite frankly works out to be more of an investment than an expense.
Buy netbooks at your peril; there are still good machines out there, and as soon as i upgrade my MacBook Pro to the latest one i'll be gunning for the full-spec TT, because sometimes there is no substitute for quality.
Nuff said!

beautiful, made to be craved, still i find no valid reason to upgrade from the tx3, not until its completely packed. but i disagree that a netbook cannot supplement an ultraportable, having a cheap and very portable machine that you don't mind if it gets damaged can occasionally prove quite useful.

Well, I must be crazy than, at those prices...
It amazes me that this part of the ultramobile market is still alive. Sure, build quality, expandability etc. all have a price. But compare this notebook to one of the better equiped netbooks and then explain to me a price premium of not 10% or 30% but 500 to 1000% !?!?!
