To me it looks like the Gateway P7811 FX laptop

Cheaper in the states however - $1399 which is less than €1000. Even with VAT or similar, this is a big discount!

well, i'll be - wonder why the rebrand: though i haven't seen gateway sell in the uk for quite a while, now...

Gateway sell a very limited range in the UK through a supermarket (I forget which one) but not this one, which they sell at a ridiculously good price in the states. I am sufficiently unhappy at importing one, paying VAT & import duty and not being able to use the warranty to get one (they are occasionally on ebay) but they are dirt cheap <£900! Try getting 9800m gfx and 17" screen for that in the UK!

I remember when they were a direct supplier in the UK - my dad had a gateway P75!
