Thought we'd seen every possible configuration of Eee PC going? Well think again because Asus has managed to think up a few new ones. The latest differentiator: some funky new colour options.

Pictured above, we have the Eee PC 901 XP in not just red, but cherry red and the Eee PC 900 XP in purple. Aside from the colouring there's nothing else to distinguish these systems from their less jazzed-up counterparts. Not that we're complaining, white and black are so last quarter!

Oddly, only the 901 is listed as packing an Atom CPU, with the 900 simply having an "Intel Processor" specified. The 900 also differs, in that it apparently packs 16GB of SSD storage, Wireless G and a lowly 4-cell battery, versus the 901's 12GB, Draft-N wireless and 6-cell offering. In every other respect, though, both systems are the same, with 9in 1,024 x 600 LED-backlit screens, 1GB of RAM and, as the names suggest, Windows XP.

As it happens, we've actually got a lovely purple Windows-XP sporting Eee PC in the office right now, so check back for more details soon!
