at those predicted prices? you might as well just fork out for a proper laptop...

Andrew: Thanks, I did that trying to correct from 63!! Hopefully it will change to 64, not 61 this time...
Monkey: Possibly, but the size and battery life of a £400-odd laptop isn't likely to be as good.

Hugo - your points are good however should small size and long battery be the benchmarks for a 'good' laptop (In which case my mobile phone with slide out QWERTY keyboard than can run word/excel etc document and last a week without recharge beats the Eee hands-down). Surely performance/storage/comfort to use/responsiveness some be considered? I am still of the opinion that the range is gimicky - a very clever and well presented one, however I agree with Monkey - you're better off with a 'proper' laptop.
The undeniable success of the original Eee was more down to 'all-this-kit' for a 'teeny-weeny-price-tag'. The only way to match that is better kit for the same price or less. Now that is what I would like to see.
