Eee PC Ultimate and Pro Fashion Series Revealed

Just when you think every possible variation upon Asus' Eee PC theme has been made, the company comes along and proves you wrong. Really I should have seen these coming though: according to Asus' President, Jerry Shen, come late September, a new set of Eee PCs will be released, the Ultimate and Pro Fashion ranges - both upping the specs of the system rather nicely.

Both of these models will apparently boast dual-core Atom processors and increased storage capacities in the form of either a 120GB hard drive or 32GB SSD (courtesy of Buffalo perchance?). According to leaked slides, the Pro Fashion series will be aimed at professionals (including journalists, horray) and the Ultimate series at such customers as the "Travel explorer" and "Free Writer" - whatever they are.
A new S-series of Eee PCs is also planned that will likewise boast a 32GB SSD as well as a 10.1in LED-backlit screen and a four to five hour battery life. The downside is that these new high-end netbooks will have pricing in the $700 to $900 (~£350 to 450) price range putting them dangerously close to fully-fledged notebook territory. Although, you'd be hard pushed to find a sub-£500 notebook at the size or with the battery life of the Eee PC.
