Toshiba Offering Free HD DVDs With Laptops

As you doubtless remember from our review earlier in the year] (if not then shame on you and read it now) we rather liked Toshiba's Qosmio G40. If there's one thing that could make it better, it would be getting, say, five free HD DVDs along with the notebook in order to fully show off the awesome hardware. How funny then that Toshiba is offering exactly that, not just for purchasers of the G40, but for all notebooks in its range that offer HD DVD drives.

• Qosmio G40 series.
• Satellite X200 series.
• Satellite P200 and P200 Pro series.
• Satellite A200 and A200 Pro series.

While I've had my doubts about similar offers before, based on the questionable choice of HD DVDs available, I have to admit that the list of available titles for this deal does offer five films I might actually not be ashamed to own. OK, so the good choices such as Serenity, Full Metal Jacket and Corpse Bride (three must-own films FYI) are offset by atrocious offerings like Hulk. Still, free is free and you can't argue with that.
