I'll stick with iOS 5.11 until Google offer a standalone maps application and I can jailbreak iOS 6.
When comparing the old MAPS & new you have neglected to mention that in iOS 6 we've totally lost Street View!! that's a massive loss.Unlike in the USA we don't get the automated fly by view in Maps
How badly does this update slow down the 3GS?
Wow. You really have glossed over the numerous, well reported mapping issues.Until that is resolved either by Apple or Google, I am staying well clear of iOS6 on my iPhone and iPad as I frequently make use of the current map app. I couldn't care less what other new features iOS6 brings when such a basic function has been downgraded like this.Several of the apps I use overlay stuff on maps and until I understand how they work with the new Apple maps or not, I am stearing clear.
C'mon lets call a spade a spade. The new Apple Maps, in its present form is bad and a step back in functionality for UK users.
I updated my 3GS with iOS6 and the performance is comparable to iOS5.
Very disappointed with iOS6, loaded it on my iPhone 4 without reading the reviews. No youTube or Street Cam. loaded App for youTube, so ok. Now, this morning, Apple tell me my iMac hard drive may fail due to a problem with the 1TB Seagate hard drive. Apple, get your finger out, spend less time in court and more time listening to your customers! Thanks to Trusted Reviews, I should have listened more!
