Indesit UFAN400 NF
The capacity of this freezer is great, the latest model holding roughly one and a half shopping trolleys worth of food, with the older version holding around two trolleys of food. There are seven compartments made of transparent plastic, five drawers and two shelves with transparent door flaps. On top of this there are two ice trays which slide into the top of the drawers, just be careful when filling these up, as the fill level is quite misleading.
An eco-friendly freezer, the Indesit UFAN400 NF has been awarded an A Class energy efficiency rating whilst the motor runs quietly on both versions. Both versions also freeze at a four star rating, meaning food can be kept up to a whole year. Both models also carry a Fast Freeze function, to quickly cool fresh foods to keep them fresher for longer.
Fortunately, the most recent release of the UNFAN400 NF has been fitted with Frost Free technology, so there is no need to go through a tedious defrosting process. If you opt for the older, larger model, it will need defrosting, but there is a handy drip drawer in the base to make defrosting a lot easier.
The older models come in dark chrome and silver, with the newer model coming in white. On both models, the controls are at the top of the unit, with the warning light shining through small glass panels on the door. Both models have reversible doors, so that they can be opened from the left- or right-hand side. The only complaint to be made of both models of the Indesit UFAN400 NF is that the door seal is rather tight, but if this is not a problem for you, then these are brilliant freezers. If you need a lot of space, the older model is best, if you would prefer a narrower freezer, that doesn't come with the hassle of defrosting, the newer model will be ideal.
