Considering this is a very cheap model compared to many others on the market, it’s surprisingly sleek and stylish. It’s also a really good washing machine — okay, it’s not packed full of fancy features like many of its rivals, but if you want nothing more from a washing machine than for it to get your clothes clean then the Indesit IWE81281K is worth your attention.
The 8kg drum capacity means you can get large loads of washing in at once and wash items such as duvets easily. A bigger drum capacity also means you have to do fewer loads to get all of your laundry done, which means savings on time, faff and electricity. The maximum spin speed of 1200 revolutions isn’t particularly quick, but to get faster you’d probably have to go for a smaller drum.
The Indesit IWE81281K produces only 56 decibels of noise on average, making it one of the quieter machines on the market. When it’s just doing a normal wash it’s achingly quiet, to the point where you’ll probably want to double check that it is actually running.
There are several wash programmes, including eco programmes, which cover all your everyday washing needs. For example, there’s a 15-minute fast wash, a no-iron Sport wash and a programme specifically for jeans. It’s also got some handy features such as a timer that will allow you to delay the start of the wash for up to 24 hours.
With an A* energy efficiency rating you should hopefully notice those electricity bills going down if you switch to this machine. The spin efficiency of the Indesit IWE81281K is B and many clothes are almost dry when they come out of the machine, so you don’t have to spend as long drying them either. In fact, the only real gripe with this machine is that the cycle times could be shorter. It’s a really good little machine, especially considering the price.
