"Most of the online TV shows we streamed looked great"

I take it you didn't try the itv player then. It's god awful, much worse than any of the others.

So, what is the point of the revamp then? Is it really just a different box?

One frustration with the original box that I have been using is that you cannot re-arrange the channel order; you are stuck with the defaults. This makes it much longer to navigate through your desired channels.

Without the wi-fi this box seems pretty pointless, the upgrade just seems to be a facelift of the original you veiw box ,it's not as though it's cheap either at 300 quid for a facelift

You don't need (or in fact want) WiFi for this - just buy a pair of power ethernet plug adaptors & get your internet connection via your power circuit - works a treat!

Hi Danny Philips, I've been looking up the Humax range and read some of your reviews but you continue to miss some important points - Archiving:
How do we archive recordings from the internal HD?
What is the USB port for? Is that for connecting an external hard drive to which we can transfer recordings?
Is there a way of increasing the hard drive capacity either internally or externally (no esata connection)?
Hauppauge have a range of HD PVR units with HDMI pass through, but HDMI is HDCP but the Hauppauge units do have HD capture via component connections, component is 720i Hi-Def, so we could capture to BD or PC Hi-Def via component, but all the Humax units omit component output, didn't you Danny Philips think that was a glaring omission?

I have Samsung Smart TV and use a plug in Ethernet adaptor, so can I just plug the Humax into my TV for the system to work ?
