The printer uses too much ink for home usage. If you print a small volume, say 10 pages a week. This printer will use $100 of ink every two months. Apparently, when the printer is idle for a while, it will flush the print head on the next print job. It will exhaust a set of XL cartridges in two months.

I have bought a Photosmart 7520. After printing approximately 200 pages the paper feed mechanism stopped working. HP has determined that it is a mechanical problem. Being covered under their warranty, HP has offered to replace my new (and defective) printer with a refurbished one. THIS IS THE ONLY OPTION AVAILABLE TO ME. Decide for yourself whether you want to buy HP products.

It inexplicably uses the "Photo Black" ink cartridge even if you're printing plain text (meaning zero graphical content, much less photos) in black/white draft mode!

I am constantly making late night trips to Staples for black ink (even the XL). No warning that the ink is getting low. It just either continues to print with no black ink on the page, or will not print at all until the ink is replaced. This has caused me far too much frustration while in the middle of a project ...... I used to like HP ....... uugghh! Not worth it.
