Read the full HP Envy 6-1006ea review

HP proves that AMD can play in the sleek ultraportable game just as well as Intel. Performance might not be quite on the same level, but the HP Envy 6-1006ea Sleekbook makes up for this with a cheaper price and longer battery life. Overall, it’s an attractive, well-built and very affordable machine, and definitely recommended if you’re after a light and stylish 15-inch laptop.

very good review, shame that laptops seem to be going backwards specwise. This was the only comparable laptop to one I brought 5 years ago and now it is discontinued for a 4gb bright red all over model.

Very accurate review - I bought one for the portability, looks and the battery life. Crucially I need graphics that support Open 3GL based programs. Intel can't and diagonal lines look rubbish. AMD solves all these problems. This HP works very well in the real world. It came with Windows installed and I paid PC World On-line £349 delivered. A brilliant deal.

As a owner of this particular model, there is a major fault with the bezel coming apart from the screen! I've had this fixed twice now and it keeps on happening. It is such a great laptop but I feel that this fault ruins the whole laptop. If you are looking for a laptop with durability and portability, this isn't it, as it obviously can't handle the constant opening and closing of a laptop. However I do feel that the speakers are very good quality and aren't a negative like you have stated.
