Thansk for this review, looking to get a new printer soon and dont want to spend a huge amount on one if im honest. Are there any better options at this price point?
I am a Linux user and plugged in this device worked instantly. I am using Linux Mint 9 (Isadora) and when connected up the system identified the printer and downloaded drivers from the net automatically. Both print and scan facilities worked in the time it took the drivers to download. I have not worked out how to make this connect wireless to my netbook which is also running Mint 9. I am very pleased with this MFP as it replaced an Epson SX100 which was a nightmare to set up on Linux.
This all in one is just perfect, unless of course you want to print anything bigger than a single postage stamp, scan anything and then find what you scanned, or use it wirelessly without plugging in the wire and last but not least, the cartridges, my grandmother has thimbles ( remember those ) with larger capacity and buying new cartridges, well don't bother the ink will have evaporated before you get home and they are so expensive you may as well throw the machine in the dustbin where it belonged in the first place and buy a new printer, any one except this piece of junk. Apart from that it is just perfect
setting this up was easy enough but i agree with the last comment. I am on my 2nd colour cartridge and my 3rd black one. I have only had this printer 6 weeks. I am going to buy a better printer that doesn't drink the ink as soon as a few pages have been printed
