Hotpoint TVF770

A really nifty little machine, the Hotpoint TVF770 plays host to a bevy of interesting features that make it a dryer that is worth a second look. For example, it has a refresh programme that blows cool air on the clothes for 20 minutes just to freshen them up — it doesn’t clean them, but it lifts out stains or blows away cobwebs from clothes that have been in the wardrobe for too long to make them feel fresh and like new again.

Like most newer models, the Hotpoint TVF770 has Set and Forget sensor drying. Sensory drying is where the tumble dryer will monitor moisture levels in the drum and the clothes themselves to figure out how wet the clothes are and whether or not it still needs to dry them. As soon as it senses that the clothes are dry, it stops working. This means you don’t have to keep checking the clothes to see if they’re dry as it checks for you.

On the Hotpoint TVF770 you can pick from four dryness levels — damp dry, iron, cupboard dry and ready to wear — and the Hotpoint TVF770 will just stop when it senses it has reached those levels of dryness. This means you don’t waste any energy drying clothes that are already dry — and you’ll need that energy saving, because the Hotpoint TVF770 has a pretty low energy efficiency rating of C.

You don’t have to worry about your clothes in the Hotpoint TVF770 either, as it is designed to protect them. It has a feature specially endorsed by Woolmark for wool items, and you can even set it to reduce creases whilst drying.

It is quite a noisy machine, though, and you do have to clean the filter frequently. Some of the cycle times can also be quite long, which is a pain for when you have lots of clothes that need drying after each other.
