The Hotpoint RFA52 eradicates this problem with its Super Cool and Super Freeze functions, which are for the fridge and freezer respectively. Select Super Cool or Super Freeze and the internal temperature will quickly cool back down to an ideal level, so your food is chilled or frozen almost immediately. It also has a 17 hour conservation time, so in the event of a powercut you don’t have to worry about your food going off.
Then there’s the layout of the appliance. The fridge is at the top of the Hotpoint RFA52 and has a 150 litre capacity. Inside there are two salad crisper drawers for all your greens and vegetables, with two adjustable shelves made out of safety glass. The fridge features and egg tray and a butter box, whilst door storage is deep enough to store a six pint bottle of milk.
The freezer has four freezer stars, which means it can freeze food from fresh and food can be kept in it for up to a whole year. There’s an ice-cube tray included and four removable drawers, although these drawers are quite bulky so take up a fair amount of freezer room. Unlike most other models nowadays the freezer doesn’t boast Frost Free features, so you might have to spend a bit of time defrosting it.
The doors on the Hotpoint RFA52 are reversible, although it’s quite a hassle switching them around. It has an A-grade energy efficiency rating and a compressor cooling system. It’s not as big as some of the other appliances on the market, but if you don’t need to store lots of food then it’s worth consideration.
