As it can be completely built in, the Hotpoint LST216 can be hidden away behind a cupboard door in your kitchen and no-one has to know that there’s a dishwasher there. This is particularly handy for those who have spent a lot of time and money making sure that their kitchen looks absolutely beautiful and don’t want this aesthetic ruined by a big ugly appliance.
In terms of function as opposed to form, the Hotpoint LST216 again scores highly. It has an A Class energy efficiency rating, so it shouldn’t use lots of electricity and rack up huge electricity bills. What’s more the LST216 has an A-grade cleaning efficiency rating so it will get your dishes nice and clean, removing any dried on food or stains from your dishes and leaving them sparkling. Finally the Hotpoint LST216 has an A rating for drying efficiency, so you shouldn’t have to worry about drying your dishes once the cleaning cycle has finished. It uses residual drying to do this.
There are six different wash programmes on the Hotpoint LST216 — soak, delicate, eco, intensive and normal, as well as the really speedy 35 minute fast wash that can clean the dishes in a hurry if needs be. These cycles do take a very long time though. It’s only capable of cleaning ten place settings in one go — and that’s at a push — which isn’t a lot but should be fine if you’re a couple or a small family.
Because it’s so small there is some difficulty getting some items in the Hotpoint LST216, too. For example if you have large dinner plates it’s not easy at all to get them on the bottom shelf, and some just simply won’t fit. It’s also incredibly noisy for such a small machine. But in everything else it’s really good — easy to use, easy to load, cleans well and is good value for money.
